The safety of a home visitor is as important as the work they do. Home visits are conducted in client homes and typically done solo. Home visitors should take action to educate, prepare, and protect themselves from potentially dangerous situations, as well as, know how to diffuse, and get away from unsafe circumstances if confronted. - Home visitors will assess their own risk and current safety practices.
- Home visitors will learn to plan, prepare, and carryout safe practices during a home visit.
- Home Visitors will understand the need for boundaries, and learn to set healthy, professional boundaries between themselves and the families they serve.
