Food Insecurity Among Children and Families in Arkansas (Online) MOD226
Length: TBD
ETO: Health, Safety, and Nutrition
PDR: TBD
(Coming Soon)
Food insecurity is harmful to all people, but it is particularly devastating to children. Proper nutrition is critical to a child’s development. Not having enough of the right kinds of food can have serious implications for a child’s physical and mental health, academic achievement, and future success.
Working in the environment where families are most comfortable often permits home visitors get to know families in a much more intimate way, which sets the stage for close, trusting relationships and increased likelihood of identifying if a family is food insecure. If identified, home visitors have the perfect opportunity to connect families with needed services and programs designed to alleviate this burden.
