Young children face specific challenges including feeling scared, anxious, and confused about the current infectious disease outbreak and pandemic. Home visitors can provide families with support and guidance to find trusted, credible information and follow appropriate health and safety guidelines. This course will help home visitors learn how to assist caregivers in facing these challenges and keeping their families safe and healthy during the pandemic. MOD445 (Nov 2020)

Objectives

By the end of this training, Home Visitors will:

  • Recognize the concerns and challenges surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and families with young children.
  • Understand the developmental limitations in helping young children understand the pandemic and how it impacts them.
  • Practice techniques for assisting families with taking the pandemic seriously and following recommended guidelines and precautions.
