After the age of 1 month, the most common causes of death are related to unsafe sleep practices. This training was designed to increase SIDS risk reduction awareness and educate home visitors on how to promote safe sleep practices among families. Revised February 2019. MOD22019

Objectives

By the end of this training Home Visitors will be able to:
•Discuss safe sleep recommendations by the American Academy of Pediatrics
•Identify ways to decrease the risk factors for sleep-related deaths in infants
•Explain how to select a safe crib or crib alternative
•Recommend safe sleep resources to families and provide educational materials on how to  reduce the risk of SIDS
