Home Visitors are Mandated Reporters thus required by law to report any suspected child abuse or neglect. Making a report of this kind can be very difficult. This online training was created to minimize the difficulty of reporting by preparing home visitors for the process, helping them to better understand the reporting requirements, and gain a greater insight of the process that occurs once the report has been made. Objectives
Upon completion of this training, home visitors and providers will be able to:
- Know his or her role and legal obligation as a mandated reporter
- Better recognize the signs of child abuse and neglect
- Specify the types of child abuse and neglect
- Understand how to report abuse and/or neglect to the hotline
- Have knowledge of what occurs after making the report
