Parental Mental Health: Impact on Parenting and Home Visiting (MOD031)

Length: 2-2.5 hours
ETO: Parental Well Being and Stability
PDR:

Home visiting provides support to families in a non-threatening environment and enables the home visitor to intervene early in a child’s life before negative experiences can have a long-term impact on their health and development. However, many home visitors feel uncomfortable in voicing concerns regarding mental health due to lack of training.
This training introduces home visitors to basic information about mental health and mental health disorders. It provides a basic understanding of how mental health disorders impact the parent, as well as, the family along with information on providing support and referring to necessary professionals.
