Objectives

By the end of this training, Home Visitors will be able to:

Explain why baby teeth are important and discuss basic tooth development with parents.
Discuss the oral disease, “Early Childhood Caries”, and its impact on a child’s health and well-being
Expressways for parents to prevent tooth decay
Provide strategies to parents for oral health practices including feeding and cleaning
Convey to expectant mothers why dental health is vital
