Home Visitor/Coordinator in Training for 2019/2020

Job Summary: The MIECHV Home-based Educator is responsible for providing HIPPY services in a home-based model, which includes a family educational program designed to assist parents in their roles as first teacher to their child. The MIECHV Home-based Educator reports to the HIPPY-MIECHV Program Coordinator.

This position is grant funded and contingent on funding availability.

The Home Visitor:

Recruits and enrolls families in HIPPY programs.

Recruits and retains 10 families

Attends Family Map, ASQ, ASQSE, and ETO trainings in Little Rock. Also attends Home Visitor training in Little Rock

Works closely with schools and community agencies to identify eligible families.

Ensures family eligibility requirements are met according to individual grant funder's requirements and HIPPY rules and regulations and required documentation is maintained in child's file.

Assists in new families' screening and orientation activities.

The Coordinator in Training:

Educational Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, elementary education, family or adult education, social work or a related field. If the degree is not education-related, the coordinator must have a minimum of 24 training hours in early childhood development.

Will work in Arkadelphia office when not on home visits, learning the duties of coordinator, which include:

Will learn the fiscal and grant requirements of coordinator

Will attend a week-long coordinator’s training in Little Rock.
