Scott Gordon Arkansas Home Visiting Professional of the Year Award
The Scott Gordon Arkansas Home Visiting Professional of the Year Award was established for the purpose of annually recognizing an individual that is making an outstanding contribution, through home visiting, to building stronger families and brighter futures for the children and communities of Arkansas. Those eligible for the award include all home visitors, home-based educators, parent educators, providers, supervisors, and coordinators who work in home visiting programs in Arkansas.
The top three nominees were recognized at the 2023 AHVN Annual Virtual Conference on November 16 & 17, 2023 at the Hot Springs Convention Center in Hot Springs Arkansas.
We know that all of you are doing great work across the state and want to recognize your colleagues for their efforts to support families through home visiting. In order to recognize as many efforts as possible, previous award winners are ineligible to win again for five years. Previous nominees may be nominated again.

Amy is passionate and compassionate about her work. She is truly a consummate professional. Amy goes above and beyond the job, making her job personal. She is also continuing her education and fulfilling the goals she has for herself. The parents and children she works with love her and look forward to each visit. Although Amy doesn’t have kids of her own, she has made the kids she works with feel like family. I don’t know anyone who works harder in our office. Amy is the go-to person for questions and great ideas. We all depend on her expertise and experience. Amy is well deserving of this award.

Amy has an associate’s degree in early childhood and has enrolled this semester at Henderson State University to get her bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Amy is our lead parent educator. She never forgets a thing and is always helping her colleagues in the office. She is the first to jump up and help when needed. Amy is an expert in the home visiting field. She is meticulous about her paperwork and knows all the guidelines and regulations. She keeps us straight.
